Consumer Rights Litigation Conference: November 15-19, 2017, in Washington, DC.
The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) and NACA will be hosting the 26th Annual Consumer Rights Litigation Conference (CRLC) in Washington, DC, November 15-19. Attracting more than 800 attorneys from across the country, this conference is the largest U.S. gathering of consumer rights attorneys. There will be more than fifty breakout sessions, as well as the Consumer Class Action Symposium.
Consumer Justice Lobby Day
On Wednesday, November 15, NACA and NCLC will host a lobby day to give you the opportunity to meet with your representatives on the Hill regarding important consumer issues. More detailed information can be found here.
Trial Skills Workshop
In partnership with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), NACA is offering a one-day program introducing litigation skills that is for legal service attorneys ONLY. Focusing on NITA’s Funnel Technique, this program will have you in small group workshops performing drills on many aspects of effectively taking depositions. The workshop will take place Wednesday, November 15, and registration will open soon.
Annual Meeting and Awards
NACA will host its annual meeting on Friday, November 17. At the annual meeting, NACA will release its annual report outlining the major accomplishment of the past year and plans for the coming year.
Awards will also be presented to NACA members for their excellence service in the legal field. Awards will include: Consumer Journalism Award, Investigative Journalism Award, Legislative Advocate Award, Consumer Attorney Award, and Consumer Advocate Award. If you would like to nominate someone for an award please be sure to send us your nomination by Monday, August 18. To volunteer to serve on the Awards Selection Taskforce, please submit your application by August 18 as well.
Every year at the CRLC, NACA hosts a silent auction as a fundraiser for the Association. Donated items will be on display throughout the conference and can be picked up at or after the annual meeting. NACA is seeking donations for the silent auction, past donations included: quilts, trips, gift baskets, bottles of wine, books, photographs, sports memorabilia, and professional workshops.
