D.J. Rausa received his law degree from Western Sierra Law School in 1989. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993 and began his own general civil litigation practice. Prior to focusing solely on bankruptcy law, he practiced personal injury and medical malpractice. Soon thereafter, he worked eight years for a consumer bankruptcy law firm before breaking out on his own in 2002. Mr. Rausa is an experienced student loan lawyer. He has represented dozens of student loan borrowers in the management and administrative discharge of student loans. He has also assisted student loan borrowers in the rehabilitation of defaulted student loans as well as the consolidation and acceptance into income-driven repayment plans.
