Trump v. Slaughter

NACA recently joined an amicus brief that was filed in the Supreme Court of the United States alongside dozens of other consumer groups to support the Commissioners of the Federal Trade Commission in their effort to preserve agency independence and return to their positions in the wake of President Trump’s partisan decision to fire them in March 2025.  The amicus brief explains the critical role of an independent FTC, free from the politicized nature of other agencies and whose independence has been repeatedly upheld by courts over many decades, as the agency works to protect consumers.
