NACA, Consumer Groups Submit Comment to FTC on Junk Fee Proposal

42 state and national consumer groups, including NACA, filed comments in response to the Federal Trade Commission’s Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Unfair and Deceptive Fees. Among other concerns, the comment highlights how forced arbitration and recent limitations on the FTC’s powers under 13(b) prevent consumers harmed by fees from receiving redress.
