In June 2022, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) released an expansive new proposed rule aimed at reining in unfair and deceptive practices in the consumer auto marketplace including misleading advertising, yo-yo financing, mandatory add-ons, and more. Consumers and advocates now have until September 12, 2022 to submit their stories and comments to urge the FTC to write the strongest possible final rule.
