The Conway hospital sues its patients more than any other hospital in SC.

“Most hospitals don’t make a habit of filing lawsuits because ‘it’s not really a great message to send to consumers,’ said Ira Rheingold, executive director of the National Association of Consumer Advocates. For those that do, Rheingold said, there is an incentive to file as many cases as possible. The more suits filed, the greater the success rate. The Conway hospital often files dozens of cases on the same day.”
