Position: Membership Committee Member-at-large
Term Dates: Two years with the option to extend additional years.
Committee Overview
The membership committee is responsible for making recommendations to the board of directors regarding recruitment and retention of a diverse membership, and member services and benefits. The committee makes use of environmental scans and maintains outreach to member constituencies to understand the needs of members and the value of membership.
Major Functions and Responsibilities
- Identifying the needs of members and recommending the development of services to meet those needs.
- Recommending ways to increase NACA’s membership base, especially among underrepresented groups.
- Recommending ways to better communicate to make prospective and current members aware of the resources, services, and membership benefits of NACA.
- Welcoming new members and encouraging their participation in NACA activities.
- Reaching out to existing and prospective members to encourage them to renew or apply for membership.
Volunteer Commitment
The number of hours per month will vary depending on the various projects the committee undertakes. In general, though, one hour per month is typical. The full committee meets for up to an hour virtually once a quarter. Additional project team calls may be necessary at times throughout the year.
Required Qualifications
In order to join the committee you need to have been a member for at least one year.
